Day 1:
The first thing you and your associates need to do is decide who will be assigned the following roles. Below is a list of the roles to be filled followed by a description of the job that goes along with it.

The following worksheet will help you pull your information together. This will be collected at the end of the day of this assignment. You will be graded on your research.
Historian -- The historian is responsible for a brief history of the destination. This is not only limited to teh campground but in addition, you need to do a brief history on the town it is located in. Also, you need to find additional areas of interest for the campers. This can include locations of historical importance or travel interests. The historian should research and included the following:

Activity Administrator -- Everyone likes to have fun while camping, so the Activity Administrator has an important job. He or she needs to find the hot spots or events at the desired destinations and make them available to the tourists. Remember, not everyone is the same. Some people like the water; some like outdoor activities. Some people are early risers while others like to sleep in. Remember, the campground is the main focus here. Most campgrounds have their own activities to share with the campers. These are just as important as the ones they can find off the site. The Activities Administrator needs to research and identify the following:

Once your roles have been assigned, each group will have to choose an area in which you are going to concentrate on. The links listed are just to get you started. The areas you may choose from are:

Canton, MA
Charleston, WV
Cleveland, OH
Cooperstown, NY
Corpus Christi, TX
Flagstaff, AZ
Keystone, SD
Savannah, GA
Stranton, MO
Vancouver, WA
Winter Park, FL
**Please get my approval before hand. I want to see all different areas when this is completed.
Day 2 & 3
Once all of the roles have been assigned, each group member should visit the given web sites and begin to compile all of the information and/or images for which he or she is responsible. Please remember, you may and will most likely have to use other sites as well. Here is a helpful website on how to create a brochure using Microsoft Word 2007.
Day 4 and 5
Once all the information has been collected, as individuals, you must sort through your collection, selecting what you feel is the most important information and disregard the rest. (Do Not Throw it Away. You may change your mind later on) You will then need to begin the writing process. You need to convey the information you have collected in a persuasive fashion. Keep in mind, you want to gather some interests for your customers rather than discourage their travels. Persuasive language includes detailed descriptions, action verbs and imaginative phrases.
Day 6 and 7
Once your information has been collected and you have your rough drafts written, you need to start putting together the brochure. There are two ways you can do this. You may print your collections and cut and paste them by hand onto a piece of paper OR you could take advantage of the technology that is available to you and cut and paste electronically. This is a decision you and your partners will need to make together.
Day 8 and 9
Once you have the brochure completed, you will be begin preparing your Power Point presentation. This presentation should bring together all the information you have in your brochure. Remember, be creative. You will be presenting this to potential customers, i.e. your classmates via power point. Everything that is in your paper version will have to be in your electronical version. Remember, when putting together the brochure, there are all different types of people out there who camp. Be creative and have fun!
